Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), aka Day Treatment Program
*The PHP program is coming soon – check back here later or give us a call if you or a loved one would benefit from this service*
The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), or Day Treatment Program, is a highly structured, comprehensive mental health treatment program (SAMHSA). It bridges the gap between inpatient and outpatient treatment. This outpatient program designed for individuals who require intensive therapeutic services but do not require 24/7 inpatient care. The PHP is also a step-down treatment option for individuals who have been discharged from an inpatient psychiatric hospitalization or residential treatment program but still need intensive support to maintain mental health stability. This evidence-based treatment modality includes individual and group therapy, medication management, and psychoeducation.
Program Structure
Our PHP helps clients re-engage with the community while still receiving intensive mental health treatment. Clients can participate in a range of evidence-based treatments and comprehensive approaches that can help them develop the skills and strategies they need to manage their symptoms and maintain their mental health stability.
The program structure includes group therapy and individual sessions throughout the week, with a strong emphasis on life skills development. Our team of Certified Case Managers work closely with clients to provide tailored support and future planning. Clients will meet with their Case Manager twice per week while in the program.
PHP participants meet 4 days per week for up to 4 hours per day. IBH’s PHP/Day Program will be open to eligible adults. We assess patient eligibility based on the following factors:
- Initial Assessment
- Before admission, we will conduct a thorough initial assessment to understand your current mental health state
- Diagnosis of a Mental Health Condition
- We tailor a PHP treatment plan unique to your needs, based on your diagnosis and personal goals.
- Needing Intensive Treatment
- Your condition must warrant the intensive care and structure that our PHP provides. Otherwise, we can provide step-down options for you.
- Commitment
- To see the best results, you must have the time and commitment to attend the regularly scheduled sessions.
- Willingness
- You must be an active participant, comply with your treatment plan, and cooperate with our team.
- Stable Living Environment
- As a PHP does not require an overnight stay at a facility or a treatment center, you will need a stable home or a sober living residence to go back to.
